On Friday, ten U.S. travel agencies that aim to open operations in Latin America, preferably based in Montevideo, will come to Uruguay, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
Agencies specialized in tourism will come from New York, Washington and Miami. U.S. executives will be received by the Acting Minister of Tourism and Sports, Antonio Carámbula, at a meeting in the Sheraton Hotel which has been convened to local receptive tourism agencies.
Later they will visit Montevideo, Punta del Este and Colonia. The initiative was organized by American Airlines and the Ministry of Tourism, and was supported by the intendant of Maldonado and Colonia, the two departments with the highest concentration of tourist activities in the country.
