In the first cabinet meeting production of this administration, the President, Jose Mujica, said on Wednesday that there will be income of public officials and competitions to be held, albeit under new conditions. According to official sources, the president explained that what he meant last Tuesday was that until they take a decision on what officials want, do not "move" a lot in recruitment.
As for the competitions, said that although they are the "best way" to determine their income, should be more "generic" and not so specific that give rise to suspicion. Mujica discussed the need to improve information on the staffing of the State and asked the Ministry of Labor, the OPP and the Office of Civil Service conduct a mapping of the civil service, to provide information to address the possible reorganization and redistribution.
Beyond these leaks, several new hierarchy clarifications were made in the same direction. One of these was the Labor Minister Eduardo Brenta, who said "We reaffirm the mechanism of competition as a valid mechanism, but we are conscious of the need to deepen this connection, taking as reference a lot of international experience that have allowed other countries around the world improve that area, for example by setting annual periods of income to public administration which allows an overall assessment by the state of their needs for human resources "
The details emerged on Wednesday were received positively by the Confederation of State Employees (COFE), explained its general secretary, Joselo Lopez. "Somehow productive cabinet has come to claim back not only the contest but admission to the public that Mujica had apparently closed yesterday and we said that by way of the facts would clearly not be sustained because many workers in the state that are on the verge of leaving because of age, by the scheme "
