The tennis player from Salto, Pablo Cuevas won again on Wednesday at the ATP Costa Do Sauipe, against Frederico Gil. Cuevas took the match 7-5 4-6 7-6. At times it was difficult for the Uruguayan, especially in the final set, the country's number one racket was down in frame 3 to 0, but with great resilience and later managed to win in match tie break.
Cuevas billed nine aces, but recorded four double faults on his serve. He did not play well with its first service, in that sense he was 57% effective. His strength was in the break points with a record of 79%.
In the quarterfinals, Cuevas will measur with Russian Igor Andreev, the fourth seed in the tournament and 41 of the world. The Russian comes to defeat Portugal's Rui Machado 6-3 5-7 6-4.
