No More Suffering

In a full Estadio Centenario, Uruguay classified, again, for the 2010 World Cup. Uruguay was better than its rival, Costa Rica, but not enough to win the game. Washington Tabárez, Uruguayan lead, said that suffering until the end of the game seems to be a hallmark for Uruaguay.

Sebastián Abreu made a goal with his head after 70 minutes, but four minutes later the “ticos” tied the game. Uruguay was about to make goals in several occasions, but they couldn’t, and suffered twice with Costa Rica’s attempts as they could have caused the loss of the spot at the 2010 World Cup Finally, after three years of playoffs, Uruguay managed to take the last spot at the 2010 World Cup.

Uruguay Estadio Centenario was not as full as Costa Rica’s Stadium, but still, Uruguay deserved the victory, as it was more than just a rival for Costa Rica in both matches.
