First day was spent yesterday with "absolute normality." A total of 2,360 schools and 16,000 teachers received more than 380,000 children across the country. Registration will remain open through Friday.
The primary authorities chose Salto and Artigas to launch courses 2010. To those departments moved the primary director, Edith Moraes, who participated in various acts of classes begin. Moraes said, both sites were selected taking into account departmental inspectors left office after serving 35-year career.
Asked about how the first day was spent in various schools in the country, the primary director said "The beginning is taking place as normal and they wore on these early days all the expectations that correspond to the opening of a new school year. There are 2360 schools, some that are under construction, but that does not prevent classes from starting. We have three main natural centers in Salto that were affected by recent storms and are under repair. The students are being served because they are repairing galleries and ceilings, which make it impossible to teach."
About 380,000 students began classes on Tuesday at primary level. It is expected that the number rises to 390,000 at the end of the week, as the limit date for new registrations. Of the total, about 80,000 are school children 3, 4 and 5 years old, who will go to early childhood education centers.
