While some voluntarily evacuated people are returning to their homes in the department of Soriano there are still 2,000 evacuees. People evacuated by the city government, will be given a basket of cleaning elements to disinfect the houses before returning. Until Monday, the Rambla in Mercedes was covered with water.
Meanwhile, in the department of Durazno, the return plan became operational on Monday, though that due to the rains many families preferred to delay the return to their homes. On Monday, the Departmental Emergency Committee estimated 4,000 people remained evacuated.
