The new Carrasco International Airport terminal opens today. The terminal was designed by architect Rafael Vigñoli. Top government officials and representatives from the Eurnekian group (airport concessionaires) will be present for the inauguration.

The terminal features eight gates (four of them equipped with jetways), a departure area, a check in hall and a large terrace balcony. Investments total USD 165 million.

In related news, on Saturday the Transport Ministry opened the new divided highway section of the Interbalnearia highway between the airport radar and the El Pinar toll as well as the link between Avenida de las Américas and the new terminal and the junction between routes 101 and 102.
