The head will leave office next Friday to take over as Minister of Education and Culture. The current director of the department of Urban Development, Hyara Rodriguez, will be the intendant until mid-July, when the new village head assumes. Before leaving office, Ricardo Ehrlich met Adeom to resolve some outstanding issues in the platform of demands of the union. The conflict kept municipal workers with the Administration for six years, the municipalities and the control of the patents were one of the topics that were on the table at the last meeting yesterday with members of the Executive Mayor of Adeom.
After taking stock of five years of management, the hierarch and the union leaders discussed the eleven tracks left over from the platform of demands of Adeom and agreed to "try to resolve" some of the points before next Friday. The unification of the administrative echelons of the career ladder, the passage of four to six hours for some workers, promotions for officials from fifth to third level, the decentralization of many services that are currently outsourced as sanitation, cemeteries, roads and green areas, are some of the claims will be addressed in four days.
It was ratified at the meeting yesterday, that the inspectors will go to the streets tomorrow to "report" to the drivers that are "at fault" with the municipality, that is living in Montevideo but registered in another department. The controllers will not have signed the protocol performance, in which the municipality is administratively and legally responsible for anything that happens against them. "We do not know when will they sign the document, surely will do when Rodriguez has assumed," Varela said, adding "until the document is not signed we will not apply fines, simply inform the drivers."
In the municipal website the steps to be undertaken by drivers for re-registration are detailed, and it clarifies that the process is free. "The owner of the vehicle must be submitted with a completed form that is downloaded from the website of the IMM, original receipt and a photocopy of the patent book and photocopy of vehicle ownership, license plates or police report in case of theft or misplacement, ID identity and SOA secure. Otherwise to establish residence outside of the department is necessary to present a notarized certificate stating that the principal or permanent residence of the vehicle owner is known by the clerk and receipts from state agencies on behalf of the owner of the car.
