Argentine President Oraised Uruguayan Electoral System and Showed Mujica’s Lists

Thursday, 29 October 2009 00:00

Argentine President Cristina Fernandez, introduced on Wednesday a draft political reform and proposed to imitate the example of the Uruguayan electoral system, in reference to the primary elections. She added that there must also be a format change, and showed two lists of José Mujica: one was the Socialist Party, the other Espacio 609.

The Nacional Party is angry with the President of Argentina for this presentation which considered it as "a provocation." The PN said that this "does not benefit the elections" in Uruguay. "It is no coincidence that it was these two lists which were chosen but none from the Colorado Party or Nacional Party, which in terms of color and aesthetics are as pretty as the Frente Amplio.”
