The Impasa health organization will become part of SMI starting on 1 October. All Impasa members will retain their healthcare benefits.

In a statement published Thursday in newspapers, SMI reports that since taking over management duties of Impasa in May 2008, it has been able to improve infrastructure and equipment. (El Espectador, 17 September 2009)
