The actor Andres Pazos died on Wednesday, in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He is remembered for his role as "Jacobo" in the award-winning film "Whiskey" and for a long and distinguished career in theater in our country.
Pazos was born in Galicia on 16 July 1945, but lived all his life in Uruguay.
The paper that gave him more recognition was Jacob Köller, in the award-winning film "Whiskey" by Juan Pablo Rebella and Pablo Stoll.
However, his long artistic career was on the theater stage, receiving his training at the School of Drama from El Galpon Theater, integrating the artistic staff of the theater. He remained in Uruguay during the dictatorship and was among the founders of La Gaviota, where he worked during that period, joining El Galpon as the group returned from exile in Mexico.
"Ripping the Heart", "Bulichov" and "Sleep and wakefulness" are some of his later works.
Pazos died in the early hours of Wednesday from a prolonged illness, and his remains will be buried in the Spanish city where he was residing.
