After struggling for years against a lung disease, on Monday at 2040, Sandro died. Argentina said good bye to another myth of popular music, rock promoter in that country, a sex symbol for generations of women, with a charisma and success that led to him being named as "Sandro de América". He was 64.
For several years, Sandro fought a pulmonary emphysema product of his addiction to cigarettes. Doctors said the death was due to septic shock, as reported by all portals in Argentina. In late November, in the province of Mendoza, Sandro had received cardiopulmonary transplantation. On the afternoon of Monday was also intervened, but his body could not resist.
During his artistic life, he released 52 albums and sold eight million copies, with hits like "I have", "Give me fire", "Rosa, Rosa", "Penumbra" or "I want to fill you." In addition, he shot 16 films and was the first Latino act at Madison Square Garden. In 2005 he received the Latin Grammy for lifetime achievement.
