Concert for Peace and Tolerance Postponed

Friday, 20 November 2009 15:52

The Concert for Peace and Tolerance, which was slated to start on 17 April, has been postponed until 26 April and will run through 5 May.

Some artists have dropped out of the concert to be held at the Punta Carretas lighthouse, while others say they never confirmed their presence. Some artists say they would only have earned half of what they charged and did not sign contracts. Organizers have decided to “redouble its commitment” to the public by charging UYP 50 for tickets. Performers will be announced on 21 April. Well known acts such as Jaime Roos, Ruben Rada, Buitres, Trotsky Vengaran, Hereford, La Tramba and La Tabaré said they would not participate.
