According to the Central Bank, the 12 private banks operating in Uruguay had nearly USD 5 million in losses in September due to decreased financial activity.
In the first nine months of the year, six banks in Uruguay reported losses totaling approximately USD 25 million. Banco Santander has had the highest income in the year at USD 35 million. Meanwhile, Nuevo Banco Comercial had the largest losses at USD 22 million.
