A Prosperity study carried out by Legatum, taking into account 44 indicators in 104 countries, ranked Uruguay in 33rd place.

The topics analyzed include: economic fundamentals, entrepreneurship and innovation, democratic institutions, education, health, security, governance and personal liberties.

In the region, Uruguay is ranked below Costa Rica and ahead of Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela. Finland is first in the ranking.
